Stevie White, reportedly named after Stevie Nicks, is a female from California who appears on American Idol's eighth series opener tonight at 8:00 on the Fox network. The series kicks off with host Ryan Seacrest standing on a cliff in the Arizona desert and features the open audition clips we've come to love and hate.
Stevie White auditioned in Phoenix and is one of the singers you need to notice according to Knoxville.com's Tinseltown Tales. She's further described as a very strong singer. Season Eight introduces a new judge, songwriter/producer Kara DioGuardi, which critics are already reviewing positively as bringing some much needed stability to the original testy trio of Simon, Randy and Paula.
I look forward to Idol's premiere each season, then I watch the open auditions and throw stuff at my TV before clicking away 30 minutes in. This time I'll be sure to watch until Stevie White performs. Let's hope she brings it. That would be a cool connection to Stevie Nicks on the show and maybe expose some new young Idol fans to her work.
