Fleetwood Mac Ferments Creativity on 2009 Tour, New Album Insights

Fleetwood Mac is featured in the Chicago Sun Times today with yet another article about the dynamics and unresolved issues between Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham, much of which we've read before.

However this article also centers on Lindsey's reign supreme of the band and gives more insight into the prospects of a new album. He muses,

I figure, let's make our mantra just hanging and working on the rough edges in terms of personal interactions with band members. That in itself will be part of the preparation for making an album, whenever that does happen.

To that, Mick adds,

There have been discussions, for sure, that we would love to make some more music. I think it's really down to the whole sort of biorhythms of how everyone is feeling and what's appropriate.

There are more mentions of how "everyone's happy when Lindsey's happy" and a telling comment from Buckingham about his 1987 hiatus, "I took off in '87 to regain my sanity, and the band died a slow death without me. That didn't make me feel too bad," he snickers. "Without sounding too vindictive, it was nice to know they needed me."

Lindsey also remarks on this tour perhaps being something of a proving ground for Fleetwood Mac and ties it back to the unresolved emotional issues of years past. The Unleashed Tour seems to be an opportunity for closure, of sorts.

Fleetwood Mac Unleashes in Chicago March 5th and 6th, 8 p.m., at the Allstate Arena.
